The Cloud 2.0 is being built upon the infrastructure of today’s cloud and will provide significant opportunities to startups and entrepreneurs. In some ways this revolution will be similar to the Web 2.0, which capitalized on the technical advances, standardization and ubiquitous reach of the Internet to create new digital platforms, applications, social networks, and content sharing resources. What’s most exciting is that because the Cloud 2.0 is still in its infancy, forward thinking startups and entrepreneurs that embrace the next generation of cloud computing now will reap substantial benefits for years to come.
In this video, I also talk about an early academic article about the transition of the web experience from interactive to dynamic. You read an excerpt of that article here: http://www.questia.com/library/journal/1G1-55294992/marketing-to-the-digital-consumer
The Scarcity Mentality can be defined as the belief that everything is limited, and thus it is better to be selfish then generous.
It’s a cynical term by nature and as author Stephen F. Covery says, it’s based around the idea that there’s not enough of the pie to go around. Or to be even more specific, the belief that if you have a pie and give someone a big slice of it, that automatically means there’s less for you.
Any human being is capable of possessing this mentality, and it can be manifested in almost any area of life, including: business, love, finance, and family.
The thing to understand about having the scarcity mentality is that it hurts you. That’s because in a sort of universal irony, those who have this scarcity mindset often end up getting the exact opposite of what they want out of life.
Let’s look at some concrete examples:
There’s the jealous lover who’s so possessive that he ends up driving his partner away, thus leaving him alone and with no one to love.
There’s the business owner who is so obsessed with profits that he marks up his products 75% higher than all of his competitors, can’t bring himself to EVER give customer’s a discount or deal, and never provides refunds. Because he doesn’t care about his customer’s they don’t care about him. His store becomes empty until he finally has to shut down the business at a large loss.
There’s the collector who is obsessed with obtaining but never with giving. When she finds an item that she can’t get without help, no one is there to help her because she’s never built those relationships with others.
And then, there’s the person who refuses to share their pie. Because they don’t share with others, others are much less likely to share with them. So in other words, they are manifesting their own brutish reality in a very real way. By being scarcity oriented, they have alienated others and thus set up a world where the things they most covet really are scarce. But that is a false reality because, were they to just believe in abundance, then that same items, feelings, or emotions would be readily abundant to them.
At the crux of it, living life with the scarcity mentality is like always having blinders on. When there’s one single pie, and several hungry people, the scarcity-oriented person becomes jealous and guarded. They feel threatened, and they see no other outcome then there now being less pie for them.
But when a person who has an abundance mentality experiences the same situation, they are more than eager to share the pie with everyone else. Why? Because they love to see others be happy and content. And because they do not have blinders on, they realize something incredibly obvious that the scarcity-oriented individual does not: when this pie runs out, they can always go bake another one.
Stefan Georgi from Market Taffy, LLC provides a ThemeFuse Review in this video. Far from being one of those glowing, b.s. filled reviews where the author just tries to sell you on it and then provide affiliate link, this is real. Stefan covers why ThemeFuse turns him off so incredibly, and why believes they are an excellent case study in a "scarcity mentality," a poor mindset that will ultimately hurt their reviews. You probably won't see many other ThemeFuse Reviews out there like this one.
Few things in the world of social media get people more up in arms than the Facebook timeline policy. In October of 2013, it was announced that “the social network” would be killing this privacy feature altogether, which was met with an uproar from users, and led to this new policy not being implemented. While that’s good news however, it is virtually impossible to be totally anonymous on Facebook. In this video, Stefan Georgi and Gregg Hall from Market Taffy LLC let you know what you need to do to keep your identity as hidden as possible while still enjoying Facebook. We’ll also debate the your privacy rights from a marketing perspective. And finally, we’ll tell you how to control what advertisers can and can’t see when trying to target you.

What is SEO, how does it work, and why is it important? In this video, Stefan Georgi and Gregg Hall from Market Taffy discuss their experiences with SEO, and give you all of the answers you've been searching for. We'll be providing a link to our website, as well as to a great authority site called MOZ here - where you can get more resources about search engine optimization, and how you can use it for your business. It's out hope that 5 or 10 minutes from now, you never have to ask someone "what is seo" again.
When spam emails goo too far, in this case by trying to tell me that someone in my family has died. There's a special place in hell for people like this - and I hope they get there fast.
What's particularly disgusting about this email, which I share in the video above, is the fact that it prays on people's deepest emotions. Yes weight loss emails, or XXX emails are annoying, but they still don't cross that other line.
Just as a fun fyi, beyond being a marketer, I also have a certificate in professional ethics from the University of West Florida.
Trying out a second mobile blogging platform tonight using the BlogPress app for iPhones What's pretty cool about it is that on top of being able to use the different simplified HTML commands in the editor, you can also write entirely in HTML. Plus, you can include videos and images very easily, as shown above.
My biggest complaint so far is that it's not integrated with more sites, but still a great new find as I play around with these different apps. The other day I also did a review of Byword and you can view it using that link.
For the last several years I have felt mildly bothered by the fact that there is a different Stefan Georgi who occupies the first few search results for my name. It’s no offense to the guy, who seems like a pretty cool dude - but I want those first few positions. This video uses Google Hangouts in an attempt to rank higher - a method promoted by Ryan McKinney in an extension called “Hangout DareDevil.”
It’s interesting to the note that the other prominent Stefan Georgi is also in marketing - having formerly worked at Oglivy One, and then now taking a job at Isobar.
A profound yet often overlooked transformation is occurring in regards to how companies view the consumer. In the past, a business operated with the objective of getting the public to consume their product or service. Today, successful companies are operating with the objective of getting the public to consume their BRAND. That might sound subtle, but it’s actually an incredible distinction.
Brand consumption today means the devouring of massive amounts of content - from videos to pictures, articles to apps, social interactions to two-way conversations. And all of this goes back to a basic observation that was made in the academic marketing field some 20 years ago: the power of broadcast media is declining.
As Gary Vaynerchuk has pointed out, today’s empowered consumer has the ability to pick and choose what people, things, and even advertisements enter their stream of consciousness. And just like a rebellious teenager who doesn’t want to be constantly told what to do by a controlling parent, consumers will no longer accept being told what to buy without the opportunity to provide their input. Welcome to the new paradigm.
In this video, Stefan Georgi of Market Taffy, LLC reviews Byword, a content marketing app for the iPhone. In addition to providing an innovative way to draft documents and notes, Byword let's users work in Markdown, which is a simplified version of HTML. Once you've completed the document, Byword will allow you to post it to WordPress, Blogger, Tumblr, and Evernote, and with just a few simple clicks.
As if all of this wasn't awesome enough, Byword also integrates with your DropBox, and iCloud - and allows you to email notes, or save them as PDFs.
Stefan Georgi has no affiliation with Byword whatsoever, he just happens to really like this app - especially as a great resource for firms/individuals who perform a lot of content marketing.
Yesterday while at the mall, waiting for my girlfriend to finish shopping, I began playing around on my iPhone. What I quickly discovered was this awesome app called Byword. It’s essentially a Markdown text editor for your iPhone, yet comes with an impressive array of additional functionality, making it one of the coolest content marketing apps I’ve seen in a long time.
So for those of you who don’t know, Markdown is basically a simplified version of HTML, and it allows you to publish valid html docs without learning the more complex language.
To demonstrate just how cool Byword is, let me give you some context. I’m currently writing this blog from my iPhone while I wait for my plane to start boarding. That’s neat because Atlanta’s airport inexplicably does not offer free WiFi. So while normally I’d have to wait until I got home to publish a blog like this, instead I can do it instantly once I’m finished.
Another reason I’m in love with this app is the aforementioned Markdown language. It’s easy enough for even a total “noob” to use, and yet provides great functionality like:
You can also apparently add images, although I honestly am not completely clear on how that works.
Yet another cool feature of the Byword app is that it syncs with both your iCloud and Dropbox, and Evernote. In addition, the content you create can be saved to these two places as either a PDF, or HTML. Plus, you can also email your docs, or print them.
Now finally, let me get to my favorite part about Byword, at least from a marketing perspective. Once you’ve finished your document, this app let’s you publish to Blogger, your WordPress blog, and your Tumblr account in a few easy clicks. And from Blogger, you can also share this blog in Google+ in one additional push of a button.
Now the one downside to this is that you’re not going to want to normally type longer docs, like this one, because your thumb will start to feel like it’s going to fall off. That’s the position I now find myself in, so I’m going to stop. Hopefully however, you have found this review of the Byword mobile App for iPhones to be quite useful.
At the Warrior Live event in Raleigh, North Carolina. While I’m not explicitly entrenched in the world if “Internet Marketing,” I did learn a few great things today. On the SEO front, it’s sounding more and more apparent that Google Hangouts will be an effective ranking tool, especially going into the future. There are some steps though, and I’d recommend looking up Hangout Dare Devil if you want a great course on how to get the most out of this technique.
Out to dinner now with Laura Catella, Copywriter to the Stars. She did a great job on the expert panel today and provided a lot of great value to the attendees.
