When Spam Emails Go TOO Far!

When spam emails goo too far, in this case by trying to tell me that someone in my family has died. There's a special place in hell for people like this - and I hope they get there fast.
What's particularly disgusting about this email, which I share in the video above, is the fact that it prays on people's deepest emotions. Yes weight loss emails, or XXX emails are annoying, but they still don't cross that other line.
Just as a fun fyi, beyond being a marketer, I also have a certificate in professional ethics from the University of West Florida.

Using BlogPress for Marketing

Using BlogPress for Mobile Blogging - Review

Trying out a second mobile blogging platform tonight using the BlogPress app for iPhones What's pretty cool about it is that on top of being able to use the different simplified HTML commands in the editor, you can also write entirely in HTML. Plus, you can include videos and images very easily, as shown above.

My biggest complaint so far is that it's not integrated with more sites, but still a great new find as I play around with these different apps. The other day I also did a review of Byword and you can view it using that link.

Stefan Georgi - Putting My Name Back Atop Google

For the last several years I have felt mildly bothered by the fact that there is a different Stefan Georgi who occupies the first few search results for my name. It’s no offense to the guy, who seems like a pretty cool dude - but I want those first few positions. This video uses Google Hangouts in an attempt to rank higher - a method promoted by Ryan McKinney in an extension called “Hangout DareDevil.”
It’s interesting to the note that the other prominent Stefan Georgi is also in marketing - having formerly worked at Oglivy One, and then now taking a job at Isobar.

the Definition of Consumer Has Changed

The New Definition of “Consumer”

A profound yet often overlooked transformation is occurring in regards to how companies view the consumer. In the past, a business operated with the objective of getting the public to consume their product or service. Today, successful companies are operating with the objective of getting the public to consume their BRAND. That might sound subtle, but it’s actually an incredible distinction.

Brand consumption today means the devouring of massive amounts of content - from videos to pictures, articles to apps, social interactions to two-way conversations. And all of this goes back to a basic observation that was made in the academic marketing field some 20 years ago: the power of broadcast media is declining.

As Gary Vaynerchuk has pointed out, today’s empowered consumer has the ability to pick and choose what people, things, and even advertisements enter their stream of consciousness. And just like a rebellious teenager who doesn’t want to be constantly told what to do by a controlling parent, consumers will no longer accept being told what to buy without the opportunity to provide their input. Welcome to the new paradigm.

Content Marketing App Review - Byword

In this video, Stefan Georgi of Market Taffy, LLC reviews Byword, a content marketing app for the iPhone. In addition to providing an innovative way to draft documents and notes, Byword let's users work in Markdown, which is a simplified version of HTML. Once you've completed the document, Byword will allow you to post it to WordPress, Blogger, Tumblr, and Evernote, and with just a few simple clicks.

As if all of this wasn't awesome enough, Byword also integrates with your DropBox, and iCloud - and allows you to email notes, or save them as PDFs.

Stefan Georgi has no affiliation with Byword whatsoever, he just happens to really like this app - especially as a great resource for firms/individuals who perform a lot of content marketing.

Using the Byword App for Powerful Microblogging

Using Byword for Cross-Platform Content Marketing

Yesterday while at the mall, waiting for my girlfriend to finish shopping, I began playing around on my iPhone. What I quickly discovered was this awesome app called Byword. It’s essentially a Markdown text editor for your iPhone, yet comes with an impressive array of additional functionality, making it one of the coolest content marketing apps I’ve seen in a long time.
So for those of you who don’t know, Markdown is basically a simplified version of HTML, and it allows you to publish valid html docs without learning the more complex language.
To demonstrate just how cool Byword is, let me give you some context. I’m currently writing this blog from my iPhone while I wait for my plane to start boarding. That’s neat because Atlanta’s airport inexplicably does not offer free WiFi. So while normally I’d have to wait until I got home to publish a blog like this, instead I can do it instantly once I’m finished.
Another reason I’m in love with this app is the aforementioned Markdown language. It’s easy enough for even a total “noob” to use, and yet provides great functionality like:
You can also apparently add images, although I honestly am not completely clear on how that works.
Yet another cool feature of the Byword app is that it syncs with both your iCloud and Dropbox, and Evernote. In addition, the content you create can be saved to these two places as either a PDF, or HTML. Plus, you can also email your docs, or print them.
Now finally, let me get to my favorite part about Byword, at least from a marketing perspective. Once you’ve finished your document, this app let’s you publish to Blogger, your WordPress blog, and your Tumblr account in a few easy clicks. And from Blogger, you can also share this blog in Google+ in one additional push of a button.
Now the one downside to this is that you’re not going to want to normally type longer docs, like this one, because your thumb will start to feel like it’s going to fall off. That’s the position I now find myself in, so I’m going to stop. Hopefully however, you have found this review of the Byword mobile App for iPhones to be quite useful.

Warrior Live 2014 Update - From My iPhone

Update from Warrior Live 2014

At the Warrior Live event in Raleigh, North Carolina. While I’m not explicitly entrenched in the world if “Internet Marketing,” I did learn a few great things today. On the SEO front, it’s sounding more and more apparent that Google Hangouts will be an effective ranking tool, especially going into the future. There are some steps though, and I’d recommend looking up Hangout Dare Devil if you want a great course on how to get the most out of this technique.

Out to dinner now with Laura Catella, Copywriter to the Stars. She did a great job on the expert panel today and provided a lot of great value to the attendees.
